Moving from Field Service Report to Pioneer Planning

The old Google Play listing was replaced by a new one under the name Pioneer Planning. Your data does not move on its own: you have to export it, install the new app and import it.

Why a new listing?

The Google Play listing for Field Service Report no longer exists. The app was republished on 27 January 2026 under a new listing named Pioneer Planning, with the same developer and the same data format.

Because the old listing is gone, Google can no longer deliver updates to it. The old app keeps working on your phone, but it will not receive fixes or new features.

On iPhone and iPad there is nothing to do. The App Store listing never changed; only its name did.

Step 1 — Export from the old app

Open the old app, then Settings (⚙) → Local backup → Export Backup. That button reads Export Backup in English whatever your phone language: it was never translated.

The system share sheet opens. Send the file backup_reports.fbs somewhere you will find it again — to yourself by email, to Google Drive, or to the Files app.

Open the file once from where you saved it to be sure it really arrived.

Step 2 — Install Pioneer Planning

Install Pioneer Planning from Google Play. Do not remove the old app yet.

Step 3 — Import your data

Open the backup_reports.fbs file from your email or the Files app and choose to open it with Pioneer Planning.

The app warns you that everything already present will be erased and replaced, which is what you want on a fresh install. Confirm, and wait for the message telling you the backup was imported.

Check one month at random against what you remember. Only then remove the old app.

I already deleted the old app

Search your email, Google Drive and the Files app for a file named backup_reports.fbs. Many people sent one to themselves months ago and no longer remember.

If there is none, the data cannot be recovered. It was stored only on the device and we never held a copy of it.
